Has been totally overwhelmed in a mainstream setting, partly because school failed to provide basic sensory support & regulation. The idea of school being given free choice over what to implement, awful idea. Many don't follow & implement EHCPs anyway & there is zero redress for parents. Agree SEND

Morning #TeamSEND a question on transition year prim to sec. If the the LA chooses to consult MS instead of special after panel, & draft EHCP doesn't reflect the current need what is the best approach? Wait until Feb when EHCP finalised & school is named then appeal?

#TeamSEND Any ideas how to encourage a highly intelligent autistic 10 yr old child that continually picking scabs is not good for you? Daughter is getting more & more sores all over her arms & legs as will pick the smallest blemish. They are all slowly getting bigger as well.

It's bloody awful. In the next breath after taking the transport away they'll moan about people not working. Taking away their transport to college certainly won't be helping will it.
Students in 2 in 3 specialist colleges couldn’t start their courses on time because local authority transport wasn’t sorted
For others, transport was unsafe - one blind student was abandoned in a town centre forcing the police to take them to college
