Another thing I loved about Legends of the Condor Heroes: The Gallants is the time given towards Huang Rong and Hua Zheng's relationship

The way I see it, Tsui Hark made this assuming that the viewer is already familiar with the characters' origin stories and already has some emotional attachment to them. The movie focuses on ch 34-40, skipping a lot of backstory⤵️

It's amazing to think that 5 years have passed, and in that time Xiao Zhan has proven that he can endure and continue to grow despite the odds.
