Last night I ran Winter's Daughter in Cairn for two friends and their 8-year-old kids. We had fun, but I lost the kids' attention around an hour-and-a-half in. This was a good lesson in not talking down to an audience, and reinforced how important establishing and maintaining the stakes are in rpgs.

Pascal Siakam recorded more falls on his jump-shot last season than any non-guard

Myself & @samsonfolk.bsky.social assessed the angles he accesses from all angles - biomechanics, SF%, drawing more aggressive closeouts, transition non-costs, & longevity

Ok I'm doing research.

What's your favorite dungeon?

Not a megadungeon, not an adventure that has a dungeon.

Just the dungeon.

Absolute banger from the latest Crumpstack.

The post itself is a fine survey of freaks responding to Doreen St. Felix's criticism of Sidney Sweeney genes/jeans ad.

But the way Crumps rips into the Hitler particles inherent in "socially sophisticated" liberals in the conclusion is so satisfying

I get that it's just a French name, but it's wild that the Connecticut Suns have a guard named Lacan.

Playtesters can be very good at noticing there is a problem. Much less so what the actual problem really is. Questions about general timing and what they were feeling are almost always useful. What they think is bad will often be directionally useful but as likely to highlight other interactions

Removing tools or roles for managing pacing and spotlighting does not make those needs go away. GMless games that think the GM is only handling the setting often feel like a hot mess. Adding inherent structure or turns solves A LOT of those problems
