It's easy to wrongly believe government ought be run like a business. Companies seek profit, achieving that by finding who to serve and who to ignore. They are also singularly focused on the current quarter and may sell out the future for that. Governments must serve ALL people, now & future.

Every year I watch White Christmas I think about how much the cast of The Wallace and Davis show would resent the Hayes sisters. They show up out of nowhere and the whole show is re-written for them.

There would have been so much spicy gossip back stage.
