“Absolutely not. My great niece was 4 months pregnant and her fetus had no skull. And because of men involving themselves in women’s bodies she was forced to deliver the fetus… there’s a reason God created medicine.”🔥

This Yglesias piece in the NYT is horrifically bad. Almost every "fact" it cites is provably false. At best it is cocktail party banter from a pundit who knows nothing of energy. At worst, it was cut/paste from oil industry talking points. So, a rebuttal: www.nytimes.com/2025/12/18/o...

Since this op-ed specifically cites the example of other countries let me remind you that Canadian liberals' decades-long attempt to reconcile with the oil and gas industry and the province of Alberta have yielded no benefits for climate whatsoever and I'm not aware of any economic benefits either.

7. But even beyond the political conversation, you can't compare 2012 energy policy to 2025 without understanding the massive shift in US fossil energy production & net imports over that period. Look at the "net imports" line on this chart.

Thank you! Exactly why everyone should watch #DeathByLightning.
James Garfield was murdered by a man who thought he deserved a government job. Chester Arthur—once a machine politician—responded by helping create civil service reform.

Today’s GOP wants to undo that progress and return to patronage politics.

A look at how Garfield’s murder and Arthur’s unexpected courage created modern civil service protections—and why today’s GOP is trying to dismantle them.

I just started this miniseries last night and it's exactly what we need: a reminder that we have been through periods of corruption and cronyism that rival Trump's, and we corrected course. Our system of government was not gifted in perfect form by the founding fathers, but hard won over time.
Death by Lightning was great. Historically on point w/o feeling heavy. The use of anachronistic language aka F bombs was a nice touch. Acting was excellent. Wild to think Americans know little about the assasination that ended the spoils system. Highest praise: I’d show it in #history class. #tvsky

Its not shocking that violent criminal chauvinists like this exist, and I applaud Romania for cracking down on sex trafficking. What I cannot understand is how people who present themselves as defenders of Christian/family values support these horrible guys. Lock them up!

the thing about this is that usually visa shit ends up being reciprical. If we do a thing to a country, they do a thing to us.
