The notion that Trump is going to revoke birthright citizenship via some unilateral rewriting of the 14th Amendment is absurd, for one. But it’s also part of the conservative agenda to define who gets to be a “person” in this country.

It’s a straight line to fetal personhood.

The Supreme Court said NOPE: If you’re born here, you’re a citizen. Wong Kim Ark was born in California. He’s therefore a citizen.

but the argument for abandoning the case has been circulating in conservative legal circles for decades, so hold on to your butts.

Why is it that some medicre white dude like the Nazi tattoo bearing Graham Platner who has NEVER held public office or done anything to show he knows how to govern, a man with a history of sexist & bigoted comments in contention for a Senate seat?

Why does the press give him a pass?

Makes me sad.

Censorship is the cancer of a society. Starts with little things that convince people are "bad"... and at the end, you have a hypocritical society "good" outside, but rotten inside by repressed thoughts and urges.
And is like that can create monsters, not prohibiting art.

Cisgender women keep winning and confirming that all this hatred and exclusion of trans people is almost solely the domain of morally reprehensible men (a techbro owns this league).

This wouldn't even be a gendered hobby if certain men weren't incredibly creepy about women wanting to take part.

The Supreme Court cannot “uphold the longstanding principle” or “strike down birthright citizenship.” The Supreme Court can follow the plain text of the constitution or declare itself in rebellion to the constitution. These are the only two options wrt birthright citizenship and the 14th Amendment.

It's an actual game plan on the right. They use it for book bans as well. They start with something easy: no porn in libraries. That hooks in the low information folks. Then you slowly broaden the scope until you're yanking any YA that violates Christian nationalism.
one of many parallels between anti-vaxxers & those who oppose gender-affirming care: they start by pretending they have a very specific concern (MMR vaccine, puberty blockers, etc), but once given any sway or say on the matter, they quickly strive to eliminate all of it
Kennedy's zombie ACIP panel just voted to restrict hepatitis B vaccine for newborns. Experts say it will harm children for no reason. www.ms.now/news/rfk-cdc...

ACIP member Dr. Cody Meissner:

"'Do no harm' is a moral imperative. We are doing harm by changing this wording. And I vote no."

free idea from my library, get a tacky weird artificial Christmas tree. ask local library if you can set up a "giving tree"
in their lobby.
Hang free hats, gloves, scarves, socks etc etc on them.
Wrap some simple gifts: put a removable label on there with an item list. Put under giving tree.
