Here's hoping we survive living among the enclave of benighted yahoos this country just elected.
Do you even lift, bro?
We're well past the point where if it were a foreign country, US media correspondents would be reporting on it in a way that would get them detained and/or expelled by the regime.
This makes it sounds like it's infrastructure week.

I want to recognize @robertgarcia.bsky.social who, despite being abandoned by leadership, worked hard to get Dems to vote No on these Trump Takeover bills. And thank you to @repsuhas.bsky.social, who has been consistently voting No on the Trump Takeover bills while representing a frontline district

I'm reminded of how thirsty Mary Richards and Rhoda Morgenstern were about Robert Redford. 💕

I met Robert Redford at Garson Studio in Santa Fe. He was so much shorter than I ever imagined-so much so that I was a little shocked because he was such a giant onscreen. He was a solid human and one of the best at his craft. Rest well, good sir.

It was Documentary Sunday and I watched KISSTORY because I was curious. Now I believe that Alexis Michelle is the love child of Paul Stanley from the Kiss Reunion tour circa 1996.

A user named Bindthatbitch read this & decided that I was "eulogizing a nazi." I'm involuntarily on a list now called "Charlie Kirk Glazers #3" & they blocked me & I can't do anything about it. There are some things I really don't like about this place. Trust me I have made NO pro-Kirk statements.

The world's tallest sunflower? Yes, please. 🌻🌻🌻
When Alex Babich looks up at the 35-foot sunflower towering over his Fort Wayne, Indiana, backyard, he sees more than just a plant. He sees a tribute to his roots.

I was a kid myself, babysitting when this aired. Their chalet had windows that looked very much like this. I had all the lights off and no sooner had this scene ended when Petunia the Maine Coon cat decided to ambush me and ran across the back of the sofa. I screamed so loud I woke the toddler.
FWIW, I can back up what Hill says about THAT window scene. It's monstrous in the book, and the original TV movie version captured it perfectly.
A few years ago, I talked to the kids—now middle-aged guys, like me—who made it.

Okay. So no, "Um, sorry, guys, I shouldn't have threatened a whole bunch of people for something they didn't do?" No? Just checking. Glad the new ballroom is healing your grief so quickly.
Q: My condolences on the loss of your friend Charlie Kirk. How are you holding up?
TRUMP: I think very good. And by the way, right there you see all the trucks. They just started construction of the new ballroom for the White House, which is something they've been trying to get for about 150 years.

I don't like looking on the negative side of things all the time, but there's really no choice these days. We are in such deep trouble.
In a suit filed earlier today by three fired FBI officials, Patel and Bongino are portrayed as being so obsessed with social media that it could “risk outweighing more deliberate analyses of investigations."

So IT's doubling down on incitement. Great.

So far Oregon and Oklahoma are following this ridiculous, one-sided, ugly-hearted, stomach-churning "proclamation" to lower flags to half-staff for Kirk. Any state that does this, and I'm sure Georgia will, has lost their collective mind.

Because we have people who subscribe to conspiracy theories running our government, it is highly likely that confirmation bias, rather than actual facts, are going to drive this investigation. Which means wasted time, wasted resources, and less justice. But I guess that’s what America voted for

/3 We can also call out who has encouraged and normalized political violence and made it government policy. We can note the irony of it in many cases. But celebrating it — yelling “hooray” — is like celebrating going to war. People will die and it won’t be fun.

EW. These were all over Northern New Mexico and now I find there's a species in Georgia as well. I usually try to save insects in the house but there will be no quarter if I see one of these.
Chagas disease—a deadly infection spread by triatomine insects—may be endemic in the US, a new report in Emerging Infectious Diseases says. The bugs transmit Trypanosoma cruzi parasites. Evidence shows triatomine bugs are spreading in the US. They bite victims' faces wwwnc.cdc.gov/eid/article/...

UGGH seeing so many of the birthday book posts. Sorry fellow survivors, trigger warnings aren't helpful even if they existed at the moment. As more show up in the timeline I can't help but wonder, "hmm, what is the theme here?"

Aside from being shortsighted (at best) to raid this place, the racism will always come back to bite them in the butt. I am waiting for the announcement from Hyundai/LG that they are leaving the state of Georgia. WTG home state.
