Lab safety is very important. Appropriate PPE should be worn when working in the gross anatomy labs. This includes a lab coat, glove and safety glasses or goggles.
Sure, only Paolo can make Mia a princess but a vet student, a low budget, a cow doctor and I can make a tired cow stomach model into something pretty spiffy. New lesser and greater omentum (superficial and deep leaf!), new labels and a deep clean and it's ready for lab Friday!

Short tailed weasel skull, collected by my rooster. Speckle II Electric Boogaloo did his job and I got a cool new skull for the collection!

Should probably use this app more than I do. Anyway here's a couple of nice little home invaders I had recently-an Ichneumon wasp and a European mantis.

Immensely proud of my friend Quince, who's doing the Iditarod this year, which began yesterday. If he finishes, he'll be the first trans person to do so. In case you want ahem a story about a trans person and sports that isn't mega depressing today!!!

I want to expand on the extent to which IDEAA materials have been purged: I wrote an article last year for women’s history month on the history of women in antimicrobial development….DELETED.
I’m on one of ASMs IDEAA committees and we have received 0 communication from ASM staff on why this is happening. I had to find out via social media. Extremely disappointing.
ASM website screenshots from the wayback machine in December '24 (web.archive.org/web/20241211...) vs today. Pretty disappointing!! 🧪

The bigots in charge are using this as their chance to push out every queer (esp trans), non-white, and disabled person in science that they can. White cis women shouldn't hold their breath either.
