We don’t yet know what motivated the person who shot and killed Charlie Kirk, but this kind of despicable violence has no place in our democracy. Michelle and I will be praying for Charlie’s family tonight, especially his wife Erika and their two young children.

Yes, unfortunately, it's very difficult to always know which people around us are having violent thoughts and fantasies. So perhaps we should limit the types of military style weapons available to the general public.
RADDATZ: You talk about what can be done. After shootings in Buffalo & Uvalde, Congress passed a bipartisan Safer Communities Act. It provided hundreds of millions for schools to expand mental health services. You didn't vote for it. Why?
