Today, we honor the bravery and sacrifice of those who, 60 years ago, marched across the Edmund Pettus Bridge in Selma, Alabama, risking everything for the right to vote and the promise of true freedom. Their courage paved the way, and it’s on us to keep pushing forward.

In The Hobbit, Bilbo Baggins repeatedly thinks back to his cozy little Hobbit hole, when things were simpler and easier, wishing he was there instead of on his adventure.
I feel that. But I also take hope. Bilbo made his world a better place, small as he was. Maybe we will too.
