If calling a state secret police agent a murderer for committing murder will lead to more murder by the state secret police, it sure seems like the problem is with the secret police

If you're in Europe, watching with alarm Trump's ravings about seizing Greenland, just be aware that if he tries it, our streets will be full of Americans belatedly defending our Constitution's restriction of war powers.

He'll have a whole second front — law-abiding, of course — inside his country.

Even Trump’s got better sense than to claim democratic intention.
Markwayne Mullin: "What we want to see if the Venezuela people take their country back and become that democracy again. And I think that's what the president is saying right now." (This is literally the opposite of what Trump is saying.)

Blind monster thrashing around.
So this is going to end up with Trump spending billions in U.S. government funds on Venezuela to support a corrupt regime, same as he spent billions in Argentina to keep Milei in power and billions in El Salvador for Bukele's prisons, isn't it? That's the "Donroe" Doctrine.
Trump’s Venezuela Oil Revival Plan Is a $100 Billion Gamble
Realizing President Donald Trump’s plan for a US-led revival of Venezuela’s beleaguered oil industry could be a years-long and challenging process costing upwards of $100 billion.

JVL’s fundamental argument is that
1. The Democratic Party cannot save us from authoritarianism alone;
2. Therefore we need Republicans
3. Not to commit to Democratic priorities (which they won’t) but
4. to recommit to the rule of law.

Sorry this is behind their paywall. It’s excellently argued.
