Why is it that I have a sense of dread about the Orange Idiot announcing nuclear testing on social media? He will be the death not only of the U.S., but of the world as he is stupid enough to actually use nukes, possibly on a U.S. city whose mayor opposes him.

5 years after Brexit, it’s shamefully clear that UK is being left behind on environment policy. With few exceptions, Govt has *deliberately* chosen not to keep up with standards of EU neighbours. Worse, in a number of areas they’re planning to actively go backwards @ieep.eu

5 years after Brexit, it’s shamefully clear that UK is being left behind on environment policy. With few exceptions, Govt has *deliberately* chosen not to keep up with standards of EU neighbours. Worse, in a number of areas they’re planning to actively go backwards @ieep.eu

Lots of time and effort has gone into the Independent Water Commission, which reports tomorrow. Unfortunately, it's a largely wasted exercise, because the government insisted that renationalisation of the water companies was outside its terms of reference: ie, it was not allowed to consider it.🧵
