Why don’t we put solar panels over highways?

Imagine the 400 series highways through Toronto were covered in solar panels? Less snow to move in the winter. They’ll absorb heat in the summer and provide clean energy.

The Longest Ballot is pure democratic organizing and it’s honestly embarrassing how much Poilievre is complaining about them @longestballot.bsky.social

I watched the @netflix.com doc on the Vietnam War.

I was about 3 episodes in before I realized that they weren’t going to talk about Agent Orange at all which is wiiiiild

Leafs fans booing the Leafs at home in Game 7.

At some point, we need to blame the fans.

Unpopular Politico Opinion - but I think the @longestballot.bsky.social is brilliant organizing.

They had 91 candidates and didn’t elect a spoof candidate and unseated the Leader of the Opposition who doesn’t support electoral reform (whose party ironically uses PR)

Still crunching the numbers for @mattrichergpo.bsky.social end of year fundraising but it’s looking like it’s going to be one for the record books 👀

what’s happening on twitter right now shows just how important it was for left of center people to leave it earlier

these assholes need a target, and deprived of their preferred options they are ripping each other to shreds

Running campaigns is basically a teaching job.

People who excel on campaigns are those who are ready to learn, fail and try again.

Perfect is the enemy of the good.

Curiosity and creativity are the good.
beginning to think at least part of this is the relentless credentialism of creative fields, ie “you have to already do this job to qualify for this job”; it incentivizes being proficient over being interesting or curious. it means being the safe pick, not the one who might push things fwd
Not to be a bitch but the thing that people are missing in discussions in how children’s media doesn’t have help kids have curiosity abt art anymore is that like at least 80% of the young animators I have met don’t read and only watch entertainment for children

Whenever I’m travelling internationally, I like to casually speak French any chance I get so other people know I’m Canadian and not American.

Can I please, just once, go on vacation without some major Canadian political news dropping? #canpoli

I’m doing my part. We’re going to elect @mattrichergpo.bsky.social and relieve one of Ford’s cabinet ministers of a job.
Doug Ford has the lowest approval rating of CDN premiers.

Just 34% of Ontarians think he’s doing a good job.

It’s time for the other parties to work together to ensure the PCs get voted out of office when Doug calls an early election in 2025.

Let’s make #DougFord a label salesman again.

If anyone asks me why I love data on my campaigns.
I love a good graph. Always send me good graphs if you see one.

How is it that I am just now understanding how great work pants are?!?

The deep goal of bluesky is to decentralize the social internet so that every individual controls their experience of it rather than having it be controlled by 5 random billionaires. Everyone thinks they signed up for a demuskified twitter...we actually signed an exciting and bizarre experiment.

THIS!!

In 2022, I ran probably Ontario biggest campaign in a safe conservative riding and we nearly beat them by talking to voters day in and day out.

Most people had never had someone knock on their door before.
I’m gonna tell y’all a secret that isn’t really a secret, it’s just math: you can’t win statewide in red states without capturing at least part of the rural vote. That means Dems have to support down-ballot nominees and rural infrastructure.

Come back. I’m here. I can help.

I love working on campaigns but the one downfall is that once you start it is basically impossible to just sit down and get a whole day of quiet work done. What I wouldn’t give to turn off my phone for a whole day and just get all my random thoughts and plans in order!

We are likely going to spend the next several months talking about potential corruption in the CPC.

If progressives can learn one lesson from the US election it’s this:

You can’t just tell the story of the corruption but also how that corruption will make life worse and more $ for Canadians.
