GOLDMAN: If that officer's conduct was 'beneath the men and women of ICE,' why did you reinstate him?

NOEM: Sir, that investigation was competed. I can give you that investigation.

GOLDMAN: I wrote you two months ago. Why haven't I gotten it yet?

NOEM: I'm surprised you haven't gotten it

At 2pm Judge Xinis is holding a 'virtual' hearing on govt's new stated plan of sending Abrego Garcia to Liberia by 10/31. Abrego says it's too late to switch again & govt must 1st try Costa Rica (already offered, but only if he'd plead guilty). I'll try to live blog here for @lawfaremedia.org .

It’s not complicated. If your nurse is juggling too many patients while you’re in the hospital, it’s that much harder to keep you safe.

This is the guy who lied on the stand at a trial in LA, telling the jury he witnessed the defendant assault the ICE officer, when the video showed the ICE officer assault the defendant. The jury took an hour to acquit. He's referred to immigrants as "filth, trash, and scum."

My two takeaways on this:

1. CNN's CEO is utterly craven. No surprise there.

2. The White House is getting very nervous about how poorly the demolition of the East Wing is going over with most Americans. Good.

Things sometimes worked out when the US was able to mobilize overwhelming military might against small countries for fast, in-and-out operations—e.g., Grenada 1983, Panama 1989. But Venezuela is far from small: It has a slightly larger population than Iraq did in 2003. wapo.st/3X1jhE0

It is about avoiding a vote to release the Epstein files.

As you watch ICE abuse migrants, recall that during Trump's first term there were ~5000 documented cases of ICE & BP sexually abusing & assaulting migrant children. It led to zero policy changes, negligible prosecutions, & billions more in funding.
