The FCC Chair saying “You can deal with Kimmel the easy way or the hard way” is the very definition of a chilling effect on speech, and a good indicator the First Amendment is a dead letter in the Trump regime. Free speech is dying in America and none of our free speech warriors seem to care

Again, what KImmel said was NOT that Robinson might have been MAGA, but that the MAGA gang was desperately trying to say he was not and to score political points from it. Where is the deep offense to civility there, not to mention from a late night comedian?

Judge should have ordered ABC to pay the $15m to E. Jean Carroll towards the settlement verdict.

ABC isn't paying a settlement. They are paying a bribe.

ABC News and George Stephanopoulos have reached a settlement deal with Donald Trump in his defamation suit. The network will pay $15 million to a charity and will issue an apology.

Why are they settling when George told the truth?

Appalling.

It’s hard to make sense of this settlement. On its face, Trump’s suit looks like an uphill battle at best.

Why would ABC agree to pay $15 million in an embarrassing settlement right before its lawyers were set to depose Trump?

ABC News had a very strong case on the merits (“we just used the same word the presiding judge used”)

They have the in-house lawyers and deep pockets to fight it.

They folded anyway.

They didn’t need to announce the settlement sum. But apparently they wanted everyone to see their capitulation.

Yeah, the ABC settlement seems like a big fucking deal. Nation of cowards. Nation of cowardly CEO’s.

The ABC News settlement makes zero sense from a legal standpoint. It assumes there is a moral or reputational difference between forcibly penetrating a woman’s vagina with fingers and doing so with a penis. It also assumes that Trump has a reputation that could suffer damage.

They are all failing us.

Because he used a finger instead of a p*%%#, ABC settled????? I am furious and offended and disgusted! ABC would have won and Trump would have had to sit for a deposition and likely lose by summary judgment!
