Charm & Chance is now released, and free to play in your browser!
It's a laid back kinda game where you place dice to stock your magic shops inventory. Complete orders to earn gold or obey your benefactors whims to upgrade your shop.

Looking through the nominees for the Game Awards and it really feels like Clair Obscur is gonna sweep it. Deservedly so tbh, it was a phenominal game and I can't wait to see what Sandfall do next.

I went to meet the 'Rockstar 31', the developers who were suddenly fired from their work on GTA 6 for what the studio has described as gross misconduct.

That's not what the workers call it though. They have another couple of words they prefer to use: union busting.

Steams new Personal Calendar feature is actually pretty cool. Already checking it out reminded me of some cool indie stuff that's sitting on my wishlist forgotten about, but now I'm reminded of them again.

Been a while since I've posted anything, whoopsie. I've been focusing more on contributing to an open source project where I mostly focus on writing code so I feel like I've not had anything interesting to show for a while. Maybe I need to get back onto doing some gamejams

Very much dislike how Itch has had to go along with payment processors wanting to ban certain depictions in media.

It's always used to target porn at first but all it takes is some puritanical Christian to deem LGBTQ+ content as smut because of their narrow views on identity.

I hate big corps, man

I have a fondness for interesting cyberdecks and this one, made from a childrens toy and changes programs by inserting punchcards is just so great.

While everyone else is playing #DonkeyKongBananza I'm in the mines working on my next web game. Maybe it's about monkeys riding minecarts, maybe it's not, who knows.

Hey, another month, another round of mass layoffs in the video game industry. The execs continue to get wealthier, while the labour people put into these projects become worthless as they just get cancelled over and over.

The AAA industry is bleeding out. Long Live Indies.

Video Game Preservation is important for any and all of us that love this hobby.
The #stopkillinggames group has been doing great recently, but we only have until the end of the month to get the last push done.
Help out, and go sign it if you want to see an improvement in the industry.

Theres been a lot of talk in the kast 24 hours about StopKillingGames again.

I'm of the opinion we need to stop focusing on it's number 1 hater, as satisfying as it is to watch a narcissists ego crumble.

Anyway, go support SKG. Games preservation is a big deal to all of us www.stopkillinggames.com

Been sorting out more on my next physics based game and I'm reaching a point where I'm not sure if my initial idea would actually be all that fun.
I've got more to add in yet before I think it's actually looks like my vision, but I gotta be prepared to admit it might not be good.

Fellow indie game devs, there is now an accessibility feature wizard when making your store page on Steam. Players can now filter by accessibility features, so make sure you go edit your store page and do the wizard!

Trying to learn and test out some Photogrammetry for my next game. I feel it's always had a bit of a weird "uncanny valley" vibe to it, where you can tell 3D models are created from images, but placing the textures on just seems different.

It's both grounded in reality, and alien at the same time.

When Discord used an in-window popup to promote their Aprils Fools game, my immediate reaction was "Oh, that's totally gonna be used for ads".

Now they're outright adding in ads to the shop, to give away their virtual currency.
I give it 3-6 months before you start seeing "Daily Quest" popups.

Realized I should post about what I made for the #Godot Wildjam 81. This is Clef's Quest. Lady A'Capella has stolen all the kingdoms sounds. You got to use your microphone to re-record all the sounds of the world.

It's short and experimental, but hopefully has charm.

I love the days following a game jam where I get to sit back, chill and play a selection of games made by other creators.

Getting to see their ideas for mechanics or what influences them on their decisions is always interesting, and it's nice to leave positive comments on everyones work.

Just wrapped up the last bit of my #godot wild jam submission, Clef's Quest.
I decided to go in on the "A Capella" wildcard and made recording the player a mechanic.

The submissions don't become public until tomorrow evening, but you can check it out here: gorp900.itch.io/clefs-quest

Currently Working on my submission to #godot wild jam 81 and here is my world so far for the theme of "Expedition".
I've got what I hope to be a fun little twist for the main mechanic based on one of the wildcards already implemented too.

Very much inspired a bit by Paper Mario.

Fun thread of some cool old school video game covers.
Japanese game cover design is widely admired by players, a true craft they have perfected over the years. In an effort to make their product stand out, many studios explored a more tactile range of materials. The resulting effect is as amusing today as it is instantly nostalgic.🧵

What is the lifespan of software? What if you make software that's silly and full of whimsy? Will people remember it? Anyway, here's a video someone recently posted of “Good Luck, Babe!” by Chappell Roan performed through the composer feature in Mario Paint, a game released on Super Nintendo in 1992
