Important clarification- I've had emails from constituents saying that I had legalised abortion up to birth (which isn't true)
No, MPs haven't legalised abortion up to birth. That lie was spread on X by many who should know better. The change is about saving a handful of vulnerable women from trauma and prison. Women about whom those people do not even think.

Government should honour its promise to Hong Kongers to gain settled status after five years - not a proposed 10 years, MPs have urged.

Private Eye exposing again the utter idiocy of our politics.
This sums up *exactly* how Farage and Reform get rocket-boosted by a media, drunk on sensationalist nonsense. Unserious and irresponsible but it’ll be up to us to prove them wrong.

Hop on, ride off! 🚆🚲

As of today, bikes are welcome on-board of EU trains. All new and upgraded trains in the EU will have dedicated spots for full-sized bicycles.

So, you can ride wherever the train takes you!

It’s clear when some wish to divide us.

Let’s steer away from scare tactics and undermining human rights - and actually focus on protecting and upholding human rights that help us all.

That includes the European Convention on Human Rights. 👏

The people kicking off about resetting relations with the EU, screaming betrayal and crying about sovereignty are the very same people who sold you Brexit on a pack of lies and would prefer you to continue suffering under their madness.

We’ve had a decade of shit, ignore them.

Yes, Mary, Joseph, and Jesus were refugees, according to biblical accounts and the modern definition of refugees.

The story of the Flight into Egypt, where they fled from King Herod's persecution, fits the criteria of fleeing violence and seeking safety in another country.

See the similarities??

Lurching to the right on immigration will never get Reform supporters to vote Labour again but it will push progressive voters towards the Greens and Lib Dems. As well as being morally grotesque, truly baffling Starmer’s team don’t get the electoral maths of today’s speech.

Cooper’s full answer suggested they are pairing this with increased pay with care workers. Which sounds good in isolation but…will there be more money for local government to fund higher care worker pay? And if there isn’t then won’t this deepen already acute local govt funding crisis?
