“Soraya Martinez Ferrada breathlessly defended Airbnbs as 'mom-and-pop operations' run by snowbirds just trying to earn an extra buck. As if we don't know that the real issue with Airbnbs is large-scale operators destroying our rental market by removing hundreds of units at a time.”

Further to this thread, I now have an more complete list of organizations receiving Community Investment Grant Program Funding. It's 146 names long & it doesn't even include community associations.

I'm going to post the list I have so far to bsky right now. Hold on to your hats. It's enormous… /1
Sorry to harp on about this, but item 60 in budget Appendix M13 contemplates ending the Community Investment Grant Program. That this is being considered, however remotely, is crazy. I'm struggling to find a list of all the groups the CIGP funds b/c if you saw it, it'd blow your mind. #yqrcc /1

For what? 9 #Rider games a year, a big concert every 5 years, and a #GreyCup every 10 years.
Foolish spending by foolish men.

Over 40% of corn grown in Indiana is used to make ethanol that cars burn. One acre of corn yields about 16,500 vehicle-miles per year of ethanol, which sounds high until you realize that one acre of solar yields about 2,700,000 vehicle-miles per year: 16,000% more driving for a given plot of land.

So much for the Alberta Advantage.

This is an illegal enforcement of an illegal blockade.

Shaun Semple insisted a lease at Regina’s exhibition grounds was not a deal.

CBC had obtained a copy of the document.

It shows REAL could potentially miss out on tens of millions of dollars in rent over the course of the 90-year lease.
