There is no difference in practice between removing rights of individuals and leaving the ECHR. The end outcome is still the same, people lose rights. If human rights are an obstacle to your policy it is not the rights which are the issue, it is your policy. Labour going full Reform at this stage.
She will also announce reforms to the application of key elements of the European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR), including article 8, the right to a family life. She is expected to raise the need for international reform of article 3, covering torture and inhuman and degrading treatment. Both have been blamed for hindering Britain’s ability to remove illegal migrants and failed asylum seekers.

This is a newspaper clipping with the title "Independent PIP review is required" The Timms review into the PIP disability benefit is now open for applications to become one of 12 panelists. The terms of reference have also been updated “following stakeholder engagement over the summer.” Despite promises, “stakeholder engagement” with disabled people’s organisations in Wales has 100%, emphatically, not taken place in the slightest. As Sioned Williams MS put it in the Senedd recently, responses by the disability minister Stephen Timms have been “not only dismissive, but disrespectful.” [1] Disabled People Against Cuts Cymru (DPAC Cymru) makes this appeal to the selected panelists: the Timms review panel must not meet, and has no authority, until the concerns of disabled people in Wales are properly addressed. We continue to insist on a truly independent PIP review, democratically led by disabled people and our organisations, not the minister. Dafydd Williams, Senedd candidate has questioned whether Torsten Bell, Swansea West MP is fit for office. Mr Bell called members of the Disabled People against cuts (DPAC) “keyboard warriors”. In Mr Bell’s constituency, 90% of PIP claimants are at risk of losing support.
