I spent the best part of 30 years helping develop jet engine control system software which probably explains why my reaction to this is rather visceral as if I was in a submersible driven by people with a lax approach to certification.

I once heard another Meta exec make a version of this argument using cars instead of planes. And it is hilarious to me that they think using analogies to some of the most highly regulated industries in the world is a super killer point for their side.
