The older I get, the more strongly I feel that game remakes (and, frankly, even a lot of remasters) stand alongside, rather than replace, the original work.
And it gets increasingly frustrating when publishers decide a remake is the only way to easily access a game.

It's Urasawa, so it's a given that it's gonna be good, but my goodness, the Pluto adaptation on Netflix is excellent.

Despite my suspicions, I finally gave into my curiosity and clicked on that Ace Attorney City Pop album that's been floating around my YouTube recs for the last 2 months, because that is absolutely an idea that I'm a sucker for, and damn if it wasn't AI. Such a fucking bummer.

please watch movies and read books and play games and look at art, please view it with your own eyes through a lens you made yourself and not just through video essayists and ending explained videos please im begging you

I *really* want to love Hades, it has so much going for it: great art and music, fun character writing & performances, a clever way of incorporating the roguelite loop into the plot, it's tapping me back into my 6th grade obsession with Greek mythology
But the combat just isn't grabbing me.

There have certainly been a handful of boss fights I've bashed my head against in Silksong, but wow, the last boss of Act 3 is just dunking on me.
Spent 2 hours on it tonight and just came away feeling tired and demoralized.

Capcom probably could've gotten away with selling a new collection of the original trilogy that came with all of this stuff, so this is a real treat to see.
Also, it's just really cool when devs add additional language support years later, especially for text-heavy games like Ace Attorney.

Silksong is going well, currently I just live in Greymoor's Halfway Home, where my options seem to be 1) run halfway across the map just to be murdered by a giant moth or 2) run the other direction and get torn apart in a room filled with birds.

In Super Mario Odyssey, kicking things is Mario's highest priority, overriding all other actions. If a kickable object, such as a football, is thrown at Mario while he is asleep, he will momentarily wake up just to kick it before instantly going back to sleep.
