My current gold plan premiums are going up and then deductible is increasing by $500 dollars. That's equal to a month of therapy at full price before a 30% copay kicks in.

The 2025 subsidy covers 1/3 of my premium and 2026 would be roughly the same. But without that support, I can't afford it.

The bronze plan is more affordable, even without a subsidy. But the deductible is so high that I won't meet it & even then my copay are 50% instead of 30%.

So to stay with my provider, I'll have to give up therapy. This is why we can't wait until mid-Dec to find out if ACA subsidies are extended.

I don't even use health care as much as a lot of ppl. And watching the ACA pass when I was in public health school, I knew it was a compromise. But its pre-existing conditions coverage & subsidized premiums have been life-changing for many. The Senate screwed us when they could've just held out.
