Just a guy that loves to talk about film, history and baseball ! I have bona fides in the first two and I’m a fan of the last!

Joyously mad Japanese production has its western cast tackle rubber monsters on a space station in a riot of kaiju style crazy and bad acting. Glorious. 1968.

236/1000:
RIDE THE HIGH COUNTRY

Peckinpah's second film had me craving for more Westerns, as it integrated the value of friendship into more common Western themes. This is also a fitting tribute for both aging yet excellent leads Randolph Scott and Joel McCrea.

One of my favorite Christmas 🎄 Ornaments! It does something like 15 minutes plus of the famous “Mirror, Mirror” episode of Star Trek.

Hammer's "Dracula", with Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee, opens at the Gaumont Cinema, May 1958. The beginning of a superb run of vampire classics that stretched through to 1974.

Coffee is motivating not just because of its caffeine but because it is nice, nicer than the news, nicer than the weather, nicer than being yelled at, nicer than the polarised horrors of the internet.

Just got this a few days ago. Love this one because it’s different. The aliens are reasonable and just want to go home without taking over the earth. Plus it’s got lots of theremin and that’s perfect!
