Linnea, a Type-1 Diabetic, is summoned to Another World, but its magic isn't a viable replacement for insulin. So, she derails the whole story to reinvent insulin therapy!

[Panel 4] An illustration of a liver doing its job and a phial of liquid with a question mark superimposed on top. Linnea elaborates: "My liver will just turn my body's glycogen reserves into glucose (sugar) if I don't eat anything. And just how the hell would some holy energy drink keep you alive if it doesn't involve some sort of metabolic energy source?" [Panel 5] A close-up of Linnea's hand tightening around her glasses. "How stupid can they be?" she wonders.

Nothing says Christmas like a whole wheat kitty loaf warming on the radiator. Photo from my collection, ca. 1970s (in case you can't tell by the rainbow of browns).
