80 years ago, on August 6, 1945, the United States committed one of the most atrocious crimes in human history and plunged the world into a nuclear dark age. It dropped nuclear weapons on Hiroshima, Japan and mass murdered an estimated 70,000 to 140,000 people, mostly civilians, instantly.

The brilliant @pauloffit.bsky.social breaks down the science and safety of thimerosal and aluminum salts in vaccines, as well as the far-reaching impacts of the CDC’s communication failure around thimerosal’s actual vs perceived risk. Could happen next with aluminum.

Well worth a read.

A CDC Advisory Committee just made the same mistake it did 25 years ago. And it’s only the beginning.

For decades, access to prescription drugs has been limited by profit-seeking PBMs who drive up costs for Illinoisans and force pharmacies to close.

We took bipartisan action this session to protect consumers and save our local pharmacies from being driven out of our communities.

We gotta stop calling people "geniuses" or "gifted". It ruins them. They destroy themselves finding out the hard way they arent indeed good at everything or finding out being smart aint enough to acquire or even sustain success or even being happy.

It's no surprise that folks are coming to the Middle of Everything to experience all that we have to offer, including in Southern Illinois.

With record tourism growth year after year under my administration, we're not letting up now.

Stop travelling to America.

It’s not safe & your tourist dollars shouldn’t support fascism

If you’re American, stop going to Florida

They built a concentration camp in 8 days

They’ve opted to kidnap and detain thousands instead of housing the homeless, feeding the hungry & providing healthcare

Illinois has officially ended the fiscal year with nearly $54 billion in revenue — the most the state has ever collected in a single year.

We've exceeded initial projections thanks to responsible fiscal management that prioritizes Illinoisans.

To the “I voted for this” crowd:

You voted for the guy who gutted the National Weather Service. Now we’ve got dead families and missing kids in Texas, because storm warnings didn’t go out in time. And he gutted FEMA so they can’t properly respond to disasters.

That’s what you voted for?

Do not let up, repeat this every day to anyone that will listen:

If gutting Medicaid was truly good for the country, they’d roll it out before the midterms, they’d campaign on it.

Funny how their "reward" schedules itself for later.

This is bullshit.

Not only do ICE bounty hunters refuse to identify themselves, they won’t say where they’re taking the people they’re kidnapping.

Deliberately shuffling detainees from facility to facility so families can’t find them & they miss their chance at legal counsel.

the big questions for american democracy going forward seem to be (1) can the GOP actually build the federal police state they just funded, (2) in time to finish before democratic checks can be established, and (3) whether dems gaining power would actually try to stop/dismantle it
