Brilliant article.
In a nutshell
“The key to maintaining a proficient and productive workforce is retention of experienced staff. However, most healthcare policy focuses on supply and training more new people to fill the leaky workforce bucket.’

Excellent article by @alisonleary1.bsky.social “The newly qualified are developing discriminative judgement and need psychological safety at work.”
“They are not as productive; they are still learning the praxis (practice) of the technical knowledge they acquired when studying. “

We had a lovely rehearsal today for the Edinburgh Clarsach Society “Harps of Gold” concert.

And yes, this tune is in it! But the first verse will be sung in Gaelic, by children from the local Gaelic School.

Working hard here against the autocorrect, which prefers “Garlic” to “Gaelic”…

My Occ Health pal says that a significant percentage of those who worked on the frontline through the 2020-21 #Covid19 pandemic yrs have been left w PTSD, analogous to people who'd been through wars.

"Under-diagnosed. Under-treated. The problem's so big we haven't the resources to deal with it."
Nearly five years on, NHS workers are still feeling the effects of caring for patients with #COVID19.

A snippet here from today’s @bmj.com.

I still recall vividly certain patients. The fear in their eyes when they couldn’t breathe and knew they were dying.

That will stay with me a long time.
