#OTD in 1973, U.S. Marine Hilly Kristal opened the iconic New York music club CBGB. Intended to be a venue to showcase country, blue grass, and blues, CBGB became the epicenter of the NY punk scene and helped launch the careers of the Ramones, Blondie, and Talking Heads.

It's profoundly different to cover a U.S. president than state or local officials, and too, much harder to vent publicly if you're female. But if in my reporting days, if anyone from a police sergeant to the mayor of Baltimore told me, "Quiet, piggy," I'd immediately insist he go fuck himself.

We’ve had other protests here and maybe had 20 or 30 people. I was unable to get better photos for a number of reasons but I’m thinking maybe 500 plus? Amazing for the carpet capitol, Dalton, GA. #NOKINGS

Who Can Kill A Child? 1976. A harrowing Spanish classic. An island break turns to horror as a young British couple fight for their lives. Savagely sublime.

The last fellas who came from Chicago, were given a rigorous education in Catholicism and then claimed to be on a mission from God? They destroyed a suburban shopping mall, wrecked about 300 police cars and ended up in Joliet penitentiary.

Just saying.

Today is Baby Day. Navy tradition allows for sailors to have their babies baptized in their ship's bell. The name of the baby is then engraved inside the bell as a permanent record.

I lost my little buddy tonight. Clyde was 10 years old and he was the sweetest cat and best buddy I could ask for. I'm going to miss him so much, but I'm so happy I had him in my life. I'm just heartbroken. Love ya little buddy.

#OTD in 1964, Nicoletta Elmi was born. She was a staple of 1970s Giallo films playing eerie or ill-fated children. Deep Red, Footprints on the Moon, and Bay of Blood are my faves. #filmsky

#OTD The Castel twins, Catherine and Marie-Pierre, were born in 1949. They appeared in numerous films by Jean Rollin and brought great style and powerful attitude in every performance. My personal favorite is Lips of Blood, but I'm also a sucker for Marie-Pierre in Requiem for a Vampire. #Filmsky
