Sounds like the Trump admin deported an American citizen with no criminal record basically because of her ethnicity, over the ruling of a judge. She is 22
"Her family has now been told she has been deported, despite US District Judge Brendan Hurson ruling Thursday that she could not be deported pending a hearing...attorneys said Monday that they have...confirm[ed] with the hospital she was born in Maryland." https://bit.ly/3MMdJvz

Greta Thunberg arrested for holding a sign opposing genocide.

When peaceful protest is a crime, democracy is in deep trouble.

Happening under a Labour Government.

Reform UK have repeatedly said that Kent is their "flagship" council and "the shop window" for how they intend to run things.

When they are exposed as planning to slash social care for old people, in order to hire their cronies as advisors at £150k a pop, I think people should believe them. ~AA

The UK will celebrate net emigration and depopulation come 2027.

And by 2028 it will start to realise, with an ageing society and low growth, what a really silly thing it has done.

The right will go "pro-natalist", the centre-left will be completely stuck.

It IS our war. We made a deal with Ukraine that if they gave up their nukes, we’d protect them from Russia.

Leaving the details aside, I think we can wave goodbye to majority governments for the foreseeable future. We're entering the age of coalitions.

Greens, Labour and LibDems would be wise to start planning now. Cos you bet Reform and Tories will be.

Shocked and stunned. Never understood why nurses needed qualifications
English hospitals that cut registered nurses saw more deaths while those hiring nurses saw more patients survive. Even when hospitals tried to fill gaps with non-nurses, deaths still went up. Major new study exposes dangerous NHS variation

Death rates rise when NHS cuts back on nursing
Using lower-paid workers to plug the gaps left by a failure to hire registered nurses damages safety, new research has shown

People are rightly disgusted by this speech, but it’s a measure of fascism’s normalization that many see this as more of the awful same rather than what I think most of us who’ve been reporting this beat hear it as: a significant calculated escalation. Full alert stuff.

So the "state" action was to a) light up the opera house in solidarity; b) condemn the antisemitism; c) make the law on this stricter. What would you like to have seen to be "whelmed", that wouldn't have been so illiberal that it made the country less safe in other ways? That's the bit I don't get.

We're expected to believe a bunch of rich men accidentally befriended a paedophile and visited his rape island where they posed for pictures with his victims, and in some cases continued their friendship with him after his conviction, but they also had no idea what was going on

A good many people need to get sued for libel in the aftermath of the late ridiculousness. You can see one such fellow below.
In the wake of the tragedy at Brown, online conspiracists rushed to pin the horrific mass murder on an innocent Palestinian student. One of them was Shaun Maguire, a partner at leading VC firm Sequoia Capital.

Online sleuthing is not, it turns out, among the noted VC's talents.

The Americans are living 1984
They already have been! It's happening right now! Photos of these illegal deletions and redactions are all over the internet!

What sort of perverse Orwellian headline is this? What's next—war is peace? Slavery brings freedom?

Maybe America should try sanity for a change of pace

Have you ever heard someone go off, and their words are so perfectly chosen, so well said in that moment, that you’re in awe? You think, “There’s nothing to add here,” and you applaud in your head.

That’s exactly this. Pure perfection. 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

Trump has now conducted 28 boat strikes, killing over 100 people.

Remember: no judge or jury has found these boats were trafficking drugs. We're simply taking Trump's word for it.

He’s unilaterally acting as judge, jury, and executioner.

This is a danger to us all.
