As folks keep pointing out, Musk has likely never read/understood SciFi or fantasy, and continues to show his 'knowledge' of them at lolzy levels.

So the only thing you need to know is the closest thing Musk is to SciFi is he is reality's version of the character: Jean-Baptiste Emanuel Zorg.

Today in PASA we published a new image of our Milky Way at low radio frequencies, in unprecedented colour and detail. Here's just a tiny piece of it -- the whole thing is ten times bigger!

We're seeing high energy electrons whirl around cosmic magnetic fields from exploded stars, and more!

A nice circumhorizontal arc (informally known as a fire rainbow, which is a misnomer) over West Virginia captured by Christa Harbig!

It is an optical phenomenon belonging to the family of ice halos, so it is neither fire nor a rainbow.

Ironically, it appears that AI chatbots hallucinate for the same reason that students feel compelled to use them:

They were socialized in a high-stakes testing culture that rewards guessing and maybe getting it right over admitting when there's something you just don't know.

I think the thing that gets me is that I did have ethics classes in university. It’s just that the classes always turned into the women, nonbinary, and other marginalized people giving a shit and the cis dude bros not understanding why it was that important.
"Computer science isn't political!", they said. "I'm just going to develop AI products for startup cash and to draw cute girls", they said. "You're over reacting and making everything political", they said.

We need ethics training in engineering.
