Autumn joys. The simultaneous fruiting (from the 2024 flowers) and flowering (for the 2026 fruits) seasons of strawberry trees (Arbutus unedo) already began around here.

An absolutely stunning photo! The 35m-long #Roman shipwreck, along with its cargo of 6,000 (!) amphorae was discovered in 2019 off the coast of the Greek Island of Kefalonia.
It’s one of the largest Roman shipwrecks found in the Mediterranean.

Catherine and her cat from Zaporizhzhia. She spent 5 hours under the rubble of her house, destroyed by a Russian missile. All this time she has been hugging her cat.

P.S. Sorry she didn't wear a suit.

This is Winston Churchill visiting the White House during World War II.

Funny how he isn’t wearing a suit either. Almost like he was a wartime leader defending his country from being slaughtered and wiped out by an authoritarian aggressor.

This beautiful photo, so close up you can see not only the stitch used but even the thread structure, with thin strips of metal foil wrapped round a core, exemplifies the way new appreciation of historic #embroidery is being driven by digital #photography & photo sharing.
