I have dipped my little toe into the world of professional illustration some years ago and stories like this are the reason I’m getting my nursing degree and drawing occasionally on the side.
i love being treated like a charity for people with NYC salaries, healthcare benefits and paid vacation time who also don't know how to do their jobs 🫠

I've had to explain that no, I cannot pencil and ink a 260-page GN in two months, do you even understand the words you're saying to me? I've been asked to design characters, pencil, ink, and color a 200-page GN myself in eight months (I said no).

Now that X is default allowing AI art to be created from stealing real photos- I’ll be here. It will not replicate the effort & time it takes to do hair/makeup background/lighting/designing shoots on a whim nor replicate the artist friends I’ve met by doing this hobby for the last 8 years
