CDs/DVDs are not forever. The plastic can degrade.

In a decade or two your data may be gone.

Source: my old DVDs.

The most permanent medium is actually paper (if you exclude cuneiform tablets & the like).

Source: read it somewhere.

It isn't "cars" per se. Where would we be without taxis & utilities? It's "nothing but cars" & "tear out the tramlines": EG US & France post WW2. Germany, Netherlands etc. sensibly kept them. Now France has rebuilt. Only the US has ruled out pedestrians!

I don't get your point here.

Kamchatka is a volcanic region. Volcanoes will volcano, irrespective of anything humans do. It's not something specifically Russian, rather the contrary.

Pluviôse was the 5th month in the French Republican Calendar. The month was named after the Latin word pluviosus 'rainy'.

Pluviôse was the second month of the winter quarter (mois d'hiver), starting between the 20th and 22 January, and ending between the 18th and 20 February.

Macro photo of skin with sub-miniature bowl of what?

Gruel?

With some kind of mini black seeds on it.

Brought to you by the people who enjoy writing Bible verses on grains of rice.

The telling time will be when the death squads murder people in the streets; would the administration allow the networks to air uncut footage.

I didn't see the smart phone as the giant killer it is in this war.

but it sure is.

Anyone going to a protest now (hell, even just observing; not protesting) has done the math: they're there with the understanding that they might be killed.
It literally did not occur to ICE that their victims might have courage.

Only because the USSR was enormous & winter was deadly.

He executed Tukhachevsky, the one general who understood tank warfare (Hitler gave Guderian all the tanks he wanted, but the FR top brass disagreed w/ de Gaulle abt tanks).

If he'd headed any other European country he'd have been toast.

10/ This all means we have a situation where the President of the United States can relentlessly, ceaselessly and at least somewhat costlessly trigger one crisis response after another all over the world at the tapping of his thumbs.

That's why everyone looks so tired.

Hence the Reformation, after centuries of strife between the Pope & secular princes. Other christians rendered unto Caesar - the Popes wanted to BE Caesar. (Arguably, Henry VIII wouldn't have bothered to dissolve the monasteries if they hadn't been so rich!)
