Great news for graphic novelists.
Canada is releasing a set of stamps celebrating the nation's graphic novelists.

These stamps feature Kate Beaton, Jimmy Beaulieu, Guy Delisle, Julie Doucet, Bryan Lee O’Malley and Michael Nicoll Yahgulanaas, alongside some of their famous works.

MAGAs are so racist they made up a lie to scare Americans about Obama being a socialist and secret Muslim born in Kenya—and karma responded by electing a Ugandan born Muslim and proud democratic socialist to mayor of New York City.😅

Mamdani: "We can respond to oligarchy and authoritarianism with the strength it fears, not the appeasement it craves. After all, if anyone can show a nation betrayed by Donald Trump how to defeat him, it is the city that gave rise to him."

Welcome to New York’s first Muslim and democratic socialist mayor. Hoping this a change for the nation.

The loss of #meanjin is the felling of old growth trees in our cultural ecosystem. Our oldest lit journal has been supporting writers for 85 years but only in the stewardship of MUP for only 17.

Decision to close Meanjin criticised as act of ‘utter cultural vandalism’
Shutting long-running literary journal, which published emerging writers as well as the cream of Australia’s literary talent, described as ‘enormous loss’

It’s ludicrous and insulting to suggest that the richest university in Australia can’t afford the two part-time wages to run Meanjin.
Also: did they even try to save it? Donation drive? Philanthropic efforts? Offering it to another institution?
No.
The university council shut it down intentionally.

Just thinking #hottest100 is what socials should be for - people gathering around an event that celebrates our best.

I had a few hits and misses but great music all day.
