Very telling tonight on Question Time how much the Labour minister absolutely did not want me to talk.

Every time I even began a sentence he started to try and distract me.

It's not going to work on anyone.

While I think most literate people can be insightful and articulate in text form, if given enough time to collect their thoughts, it is a rare talent to be able to do that verbally, in real time, while responding to interruptions, hostile jibes or pointed questions and STILL get your point across.

Thanks for all the kind words on my Radio 4 interview tonight on the economy!

Vital to ask about this idea of "radicalism" - radical is actually what this Labour Government are doing.

Protecting the interests of the super rich over people and nature.

The country wants a wealth tax on assets.

They're panicking because "won't the rich just leave" has been utterly debunked.

They've got no actual argument.

Striking in this debate hosted by @krishgm.bsky.social how many people in the comments are saying that a wealth tax at this point is so obvious.

Is it any surprise that the Labour Governments response is to continually try and take swipes at the Green Party?

The stupidity of Farage’s latest ‘plan’ is staggering.
Claiming they’d save British taxpayers money by ripping up international commitments and starting a trade war with Europe is the puerile foot-stamp of a party that uses prejudice as policy. Ruinous nonsense.

This scapegoating of migrants must stop. It is failure - morally and practically.

It’s like Polanski has broken a spell. This is great if you care about human dignity and wellbeing but definitely threatening to those in power.

All strength to him.
A Government of cowards.

Rather than tackle inequality - they've gone for pensioners, disabled people and now it's people fleeing war and persecution.

They can't get away with this.

“Farage often says he lives rent-free in British politicians’ heads, but Trump lives rent-free in Nige’s. He’s The Donald’s emissary to the UK. An existence dedicated to sanitising Trump’s madness for a British audience”

"How many traitors are in Farage's new party?" would, I suggest be a better line than Digital ID.

To beat Reform, make wavering voters ashamed to back them.

I’m not against ID cards per se. But I am against them now. For this. As yet another weapon in the arsenal against immigrants. This isn’t taking the fight to Reform. It’s using immigrants as a human shield while Reform keeps punching you in the face.

ID cards are a terrible, terrible idea
Many people I admire believe firmly in ID cards, or have grown to accept them. This is why they're wrong.

🤔 It's a real mystery why Richard Tice and Reform are going so big on the whole climate science denial thing...

💰 Oh wait, no it's not! They're in the pockets of big oil and gas companies!

🙉 Their denial of reality is straight out of the Donald Trump playbook.

Labour has become unrecognisable, leaving the Greens as the party to:

- take children out of poverty
- keep public services in public hands
- address the crises in health and social care.

Greens - justice for you AND the planet.
🎉 Absolutely amazing win for the Green Party in London tonight.

💚 That's our third new Green Party councillor in 48 hours!

Starmer's Britain.

Not even subtle.
May 12, 2025 at 8:15 PM
Essentially *all* research and expert assessments show that this does not work. It will not counter Farage, but literally push votes towards Reform.

It genuinely is impossible to overstate how profoundly stupid and strategically illiterate this decision is.

You cannot out-Reform Reform.
Prime Minister Keir Starmer is preparing tougher measures on immigration to stem a record flow of arrivals across the English Channel and stave off the threat posed by Nigel Farage’s Reform UK party after it made sweeping gains in this week’s local elections.

Hahaha.. Just seen a clip of Farage pretending to be Trump and telling council staff if they work on climate change or DEI initiatives, then they need to look for new jobs.
What an utter tosser.
Tough, thankless administrative work awaits his motley crew of inexperienced halfwits.
It’ll be carnage.

An epically disgraceful press conference from Vance and Trump with a beleaguered and entirely dignified Zelensky. Vance and Trump shouting at him about gratitude and telling him he’s in a weak position.
Fuckawful entitled bullies making a holy show of themselves and their country on the world stage.

In decades to come, statues, parks and streets will stand to the example of President Zelensky.

Trump will stand only as a reminder of the worst excesses of entitlement, stupidity, evil, and privilege and how collectively they brought about the Downfall of America.
