A lot happened but I’m finally back to working on A Portrait of Lady Nina.
June First -it seems fitting to start on the Uncensored Picture of Dorian Gray. Started the year with dystopian fiction. Feel the need to shift the mood and themes a little.

Couple of months later-reworked the Lu Guang bobble head sculpture. Did you know I accidentally melted my ikea porch tiles because I forgot to set up my kiln properly? Then I dropped him and had to epoxy his head together. Now the jingling bell inside his head has lore.

I’m going nuts lol. First off, I dropped my paint palette on the floor. I’m hyper fixated- over a month of painting. I liked how one single grape looked and that was it for me. I had to paint them one by one. And then decide if I liked the color of each grape. I could do it easier but noooo! 😭

Finally finished Banana Fish. Ash is alive. After his quick cat nap, he took the flight to Japan with Eiji. Bro you can’t tell me he survived near fatal wounds over and over and paper cut does him in. No, no, leave me in my delusion. They own a B&B and adjacent bookstore with cats.

It has been a long time since I painted. Getting back in! Nina passed in 2017. Around Christmas that year. She’s a once in a lifetime partner. I still remember her markings and subtle details even though I have references. She is more than deserving of an elaborate portrait. 💖🐾💖

Was it smart to stay awake to watch Alien Stage premiere at 4am-knowing roof contractors will be coming early in the morning? Pounding migraine says no but the rest of me says WIEGE 😭❤️🩹 It was worth it.

I just finished The Dispossessed. Starting on Parable of the Sower. It’s wild getting to the chapter of Feb 2025 yet it was written in the early 90s. Eerily relevant, both books.

Link Click. Lu Guang bobble head is finally complete. Look at him go! He was born with a bell in his head (personal request from the owner of this sculpture). It was challenging and I melted my porch while firing the clay in the kiln lol but he’s done! Yaaay!
