I’m howling.
Recently, Clifford "Buzz" Grambo decided to upgrade his electric scooter. The old one he had purchased online only reached 16 mph and wasn't cutting it anymore. He needed to go faster to keep up with the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement cars he chases around Baltimore. So, Grambo bought a Segway MAX G3, which features a 2,000-watt motor and can get up to 28 mph. "The first time I caught up to them, I could tell that they already knew who I was," he told me when we first spoke on the phone in late October. "They had seen me before, so they thought they were just going to speed away. I was like, ha-ha bitches, I got a new scooter!"

Listen I know how this sounds to cis people but the rise in popularity of gender reveal parties maps pretty directly to increased trans visibility. They are a reactionary impulse to further entrench and enforce the gender binary by setting expectations for the child before they’re even born.

As such, we raise our voices in solidarity to unequivocally proclaim the holiness of transgender, nonbinary, and intersex people, as well as the recognition of the entire spectrum of gender identity and expression,” the statement says. Additionally, the signers highlight the importance of religious leaders speaking out against oppression and in defense of American democratic values. “When people of faith and conscience stay silent in the face of oppression, we are all made less whole. When people of faith and conscience speak out against that which violates the sacred in its own name, we have the power to stay the hand of sin. Transgender, nonbinary, and intersex people are vulnerable today. Our faiths, our theologies, and our practices of prophetic witness call on us to say with one voice to transgender people among us: ‘You are holy. You are sacred. We love you. We support you, and we will protect you.’”

mom is getting sicker and i don't know if dad is able to take care of her. they had JUST moved and have NO support network in their new place. brother called and we made a game plan for trying to get them more help. i am not sure what to do or feel right now. i'm not surprised, i guess.
