here's an idea

every time you see a bigoted rage bait piece in the guardian or wherever else (you shouldn't, don't read the guardian. they are bigoted shitheads.) how about instead of sharing that piece you share some cool work by trans people.

music, art, writing, poetry or anything! just trans.
"SHAME ON THE GUARDIAN FOR PUBLISHING THIS!

<FULL LINK TO THE GUARDIAN ARTICLE>"

please for the love of fuck can you all understand they are doing this on purpose because outrage generates more clicks than agreement SPECIFICALLY BECAUSE YOU ARE SHARING IT.

STOP IT.

STOP IT NOW.
yeah basically.

head of science dept used to stand in the corridor Id have to go through to get to 'form' after dinner and hassle me to put my blazer on to the point where I'd use a backdoor to avoid her specifically.

she got other teachers in on it and I had an argument with one. So suspended!
Wait, you got suspended and put into isolation because it was too hot?!

shit. I forgot to add a very important detail

the teacher watching you isn't like... a teacher teacher. they don't know shit lmao. they're pastoral care or whatever.

You are given textbooks and a worksheet. briefly told what the lesson is. and you're expected to figure it out!
I mentioned previously how Brianna was taught in school primarily in isolation and idk if non brits know what that means.

Tldr it's a room, generally with stalls in it so you can't see other kids and a teacher watching you. it's generally where kids are sent for bad behaviour.
“Surely, further isolating trans people will make their lives better!”

"im supporting her mum"

I wanna address this one real quick because this is what we call "scapegoating".

Do you honestly expect us to believe that after her daughter was murdered in a way that had nothing to do with phone use, Esther Ghey came begging for you to ban phones during school time?
You're genuinely deranged if you think I believe either of Brianna's killers deserve less than the life sentences they were both handed, or that I think Brianna was in any way at fault for her own murder.

I'm supporting her mum, who is a constituent, which is... my job.

Go and touch grass.

So, given that a lot of trans people are offended that Brianna's transfemicide is being turned into a crusade against phone use, when Brianna had a supportive online community and was murdered offline by her classmates:

Do you think "Touch grass" is an appropriate response to that context?

there was a vending machine in my school which had a weird shell that was like a good 10 or so cm clear off of the actual machine inside.

The coin slot didn't have a flap.

And this meant people's change would fly out and land in the bottom.

I figured this out quick. Probably made about £100/yr
My dad worked for a company that made machines that dispense drinks and snacks. He said they always tried out new models in girls schools because if there was a way to get them to operate for free, the girls would find it.

It's not even that we have to state basic facts of our social reality. It's that our ideological opponents already act in ways that clearly illustrate they're perfectly aware.

a lot of queer folk can't quite put their fingers on why they're so angry and upset about this shit and yeah no this is it.

We all know and we even know that they know too. Eg the MP can't even give a single line explaining how this phone shit would have helped Brianna.

They're just playing dumb.
I hate this "phones" conversation regarding queer people and queer kids because the bottom line is, cishet society KNOWS. Right-wingers KNOW that the internet is how queer people connect to each other---hell, that marginalized people period use it to organize and educate.

That's why they hate it.

I did

weirdly I can't find the "Charlotte Nichols slams Wes Streeting's puberty blocker ban" or "Nichols vows to protect trans lives following SC ruling" headlines or articles.

in fact... it doesn't look like you've had much to say during any of the times politics has smashed into our lives.
There's a lot of things I've never mentioned on Bluesky because I'm not that active on this platform. You could literally Google my name and the word trans, however, and you'd see that's not a fair characterisation of my views at all.

lmaoooo.

The pouches open with a magnet and the teachers are just believing that the kids haven't opened them throughout the day.

incredible. what a garbage waste of everyone's time, money and energy which again; does absolutely not a god damn thing to address causes of Brianna's murder.
At Birchwood HS, which has approx 1500 students, as kids come into school they put their phones in the pouch and lock in front of a member of staff. They keep the pouch on them and on their way out, touch a magnet to release the lock. Takes v little time.

(See eg: www.tiktok.com/@warringtong...)
Last September, Birchwood Community High School introduced Yondr Pouches - a system that makes the school entirely phone-free. The school has recently reported how ‘transformative’ the pouches have be...

vastly more important than "get them kids off them screens" bullshit is, in my opinion at least, knowing how to have a healthy relationship with everything screens give you access to and being able to choose to shut it off when you need to.

It's how you use screens, not that you use screens.
by the by I've said before and I'll say again - I don't agree with the "we need them kids off them screens" values of the boomers. screens are great for a plethora of reasons.

But if you do want kids off screens and making friends offline then you need to address the reasons they've 'retreated'.
ps. it is arguable that Brianna would not likely have turned to social media for friendships and transitional support had those things been readily available in her local area.

@charlotte2153.bsky.social you want kids like Brianna off her phone? then give them a better alternative.

speaking of screens being great for a plethora of reasons

I've been p burnt out and generally just too busy to work Trans Writes for over a year now because a lot has happened offline. But I still want to do the big rework and to do that I think I'm going to need loadsa money.

I'm not getting up Esther's ass too much. She is a grieving mother even if obviously a tory.

But our government should absolutely know better. They're backing (and probably somewhat architecting) Esther's thing because they already wanted to do this and Brianna's murder is just an excuse.
We crowdfunded the mother 100k for the funeral and she does this shit.

They loved her. She loved them.

and they were all only able to find each other and be those beacons of support because they had phones.

If you want to take that away from kids like Brianna? fine. do what evil shit you want.

But take her name out of your god damn mouth. @charlotte2153.bsky.social

i think the most sick thing about govt going all in on Esther's phone shit after her daughter was murdered in a crime which had not nothing to do with phones

... is that I spoke to Brianna's friends. On Tiktok. They were everything to her - you want to take that away from other kids like Brianna?
Do you not think it's bizarre to have strangers on the internet decide they know better than Brianna's own loved ones on what is or isn't insulting to her memory?

I've got no time for Rosie Duffield, but she turned up at a drop-in event in Parliament and that's been the limit of her involvement.

the idea of a trans inclusive BBC is a big foot for bigots. it never existed but the thought that it might keeps them scared of and hunting for it.

I was also invited to watch a talk by a transphobic barrister at the BBC. with about 50 people in attendance.

the whole talk was just bigot shit about self ID and other nonsense bigots had just made up.

And lol, we paid for that. with our license fees.

noone faced any consequences for this.
November 10, 2025 at 9:56 AM
I was once given a list of bigots at the BBC. About 20-30 of them in senior positions who had openly supported bigotry.

Not a single one, to my knowledge, ever faced any consequence or real pushback. Neither on their actions or their clearly successful attempts to sway the agenda more bigoted.

Tim Davie, according to sources actually in the meetings, is not pro trans. He isn't anti trans, no. But he doesnt understand or want to advance trans issues in any meaningful way & the rise of transphobia in the BBC can be attributed more to a lack of action rather than any direct decision making.
November 10, 2025 at 9:32 AM
idk. it's probably not never that. but honestly I kinda get it? it's fun, everyone likes to be fun.

It's just frustrating that the best way to get trans communities online to notice you and talk about what you're doing is to be a bigot. like... that seems fundamentally unsustainable, right?
World you say it’s performative virtue signalling without understanding the virtue? (No this isn’t some kind of trap question or gotcha, sorry if it sounds like it.)

I worked at festivals once and I don't even know how they managed it but I opened a portaloo to find a literal mountain of shit peaking above the rim of the toilet.

Like... did they just keep shitting on top?? one after the other?? did they have to stand on the sides to reach????

a mystery.
ive worked in retail and im sorry to say that they usually do that into urinals

just saw a story about someone getting fined a grand for leaving trash next to a bin that was over flowing

and while I don't think they should've got fined and that bins shouldn't be left long enough to start overflowing... Wtf lmao??? Just find another bin it will take like 10 minutes tops???
