Remember, we are part of nature.

The reason "spending time with nature" is often helpful for us is because it taps into a very base knowing that we are connected with other beings. We are connected with them all and there's something soothing for our nervous systems to make contact with them 🌿🦆🦋🌖
Enjoying reading Emilie Autumn's book The Asylum For Wayward Victorian Girls with a pint in the pub.

I don't read in pubs enough anymore - it used to be a regular occurrence for me as a student!

I have just finished this book and it was amazing! A deep dive into the works and impact of a long forgotten psychologist, Pierre Janet, who is the founder of the gold standard approach to trauma therapy today! I'm so happy to have read this!

I support the #BDS movement as a #nonviolent method of trying to get Israel to stop the genocide and oppression of Palestinians. It's just a shame that some people are pressuring others to #boycott and #divest from non-BDS targets while claiming what they are doing is in line with the BDS movement.

💚 I'm loving this event 💚 more people need to be aware of how oppressive our mental health services are before insisting others access these services.

Therapy is hugely beneficial when it's in a genuinely safe space. Our mental health services are not universally safe due to its oppressive nature

🧵I've just seen an image on Pinterest declaring that #Trauma is not your fault but healing is your choice - and I have feelings about this.

First of all, this strikes me as an incredibly privileged take. Not everyone is able to engage in trauma healing at any given moment, even if they want to.

A vital message for us all. True #strength recognises that our #emotions need to be felt and understood. They are forms of internal communication and necessary for navigating through life.

I've had a reminder this week of how important it is to take time to listen to what they're saying.

This is exactly what we need - actual scientific and research driven analysis - not just bias thinly veiled as a report
Just out! Our peer-reviewed critique of the Cass Review has been published by BMC Medical Research Methodology. Please read and share. We show that the Cass Review is fatally flawed and should not be the basis for policy or practice in transgender healthcare.

Taking some time for myself and reading this.

The tendency of people, even supposed allies, to dismiss the possibility of asexuality or aromanticism and instead focus on the heterosexuality/homosexuality binary is something I get frustrated with. To see this frustration mirrored...

According to a new poll run by NSPCC, 1 in 6 adults couldn't identify the signs of emotional abuse. When adults are unable to identify emotional abuse, they are failing the children and young people in their lives.

Conversations about abuse are important

Most UK adults believe emotional abuse in childhood can have a lasting psychological effect but one in six cannot spot the signs
We want to remind people of the importance of free, online resources like Listen up, Speak up.
