Born, raised and lived (mostly) in the south …. Don’t really consider myself a Southerner. Have gotten poked for being one and poked for not being one. I have left blood, sweat and tears in Texas, Kansas, Wisconsin and South Carolina so to hell with it.
He goes not … ever … think things through.
Donald Trump's decision to remove Maduro without a clear plan for democratic transition leaves Venezuela at risk, raises questions about America’s credibility, and escalates international tensions. And we should all be paying attention.
Trump Hasn’t Thought This War Through
By attacking Venezuela, Trump now has both “inside” and “outside” problems with no easy solutions

He couldn’t even RUN his businesses.
Fact: Trump says he will “run” a country of more than 28 million people. That’s larger than the population of the upper Midwest—Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, North Dakota, South Dakota, & Michigan combined.

Question: How about focusing on health care premiums in the U.S. instead?

There aren’t anywhere remotely close to 100 million aliens in the US, undocumented or naturalized.
DHS now says it's aiming for 100 million deportations. In an amazing coincidence, there are 104 million Black and Hispanic people living in the U.S. right now.

US regulators collected 61% less in fines for money laundering and sanctions breaches in 2025, after watchdogs took a more lenient approach under Trump. Total fines imposed by the US for dirty money offences were under $1.7bn in the year to Dec 19, a sharp drop from the $4.3bn in such penalties.

The Government does NOT subsidize health care. There is NO SUCH THING as “government money“. Our government operates off of the people’s money. WE are subsidizing our neighbors and fellow citizens (and sometimes guests) who need health care. This is our money.

Can we send him to space, too? And have him stay a while?

Moving from a small town in SC to a bigger place in NC in 1962, I discovered there was such a thing as Young Republicans. As a political naïf I was stricken with an instant loathing for the breed. They just seemed … wrong. I maintain that thought to this day, only extended to the older ones as well.

Not for nothing, but this line is an explicit rejection of both Lincoln thought and the very feature that makes American democracy special. These people hate America. talkingpointsmemo.com/news/new-yor...

Not enough skim at 250 million.
When he first announced this he said it would cost $250 million, but also claimed his projects always come in under budget so it will probably be less.

Thank you, thank you!
You beat me to it. Only one side borders water.
Venezuela is not completely surrounded by an armada, because Venezuela is not an island.

Also, Venezuela nationalized its oil industry in 1976, when Hugo Chávez was 21 and Nicolás Maduro was 13.
Trump: "Venezuela is completely surrounded by the largest Armada ever assembled ... It will only get bigger, and the shock to them will be like nothing they have ever seen before — Until such time as they return to the USA all of the Oil, Land, and other Assets that they previously stole from us."

Worse than embarrassment… you pick the word.
Two babies were born in New York within a year of each other, soon after WWII.

One, Rob Reiner, lived a life of humanity and achievement. He brought us delight and joy. His memory will be a blessing.

The other, Donald Trump, will be remembered as an embarrassment to our nation.
