Born, raised and lived (mostly) in the south …. Don’t really consider myself a Southerner. Have gotten poked for being one and poked for not being one. I have left blood, sweat and tears in Texas, Kansas, Wisconsin and South Carolina so to hell with it.
Day after Election Day I struck off the longest-lived friend of my adulthood, weeping as I did so. Tears were abundant in our house and the houses of friends. It seemed a common denominator. Same day, I wrote this. Thanks for reading.
