So even as we condemn political violence, we need to be clear of the legacy of Turning Point USA. Those who are whitewashing its work as a “free speech and debate” organization are willfully obscuring the truth. 8/

This is part of the long term endgame for the political marriage of Republican politicians and “Conservative” Evangelicals, going all the way back to the old school Moral Majority.
👀 The Harvard Journal of Law & Public Policy has just published an article by A3P Sr. Counsel Josh Hammer, Timon Cline, & Yoram Hazony. It calls on SCOTUS to reverse the 1947 Everson case, which held that the Establishment Clause applies to the states & requires a separation of church & state. 1/

Two thoughts:

1. Baptists & Catholics together under the idea of “Christianity” betrays both Baptist AND Catholic doctrine. We have divergent views on critical doctrines.

2. Enforcing this kind of watered down “christian” theology by the State can be undone by the next POTUS.

Bingo
it seems to me that certain law firms are emulating columbia, in that decisionmakers basically agree with trump and are using the threat of illegal White House retribution to implement changes that they want to see happen but could not otherwise implement because of internal politics
To anyone who has been saying "Oh, these deals are just symbolic"; "who is going to enforce these agreements anyway?" - here is Skadden going above and beyond to keep up its side of the deal.

There is at least one follower who gave away everything he had accumulated four fold, though.

Not that we'll ever see that done by our theological overlords. They're too busy grabbing for $100 million dollars because they were "defamed" as the result of actions they took.
Nowhere in early Christianity is there someone considered a faithful Jesus-follower who accumulated wealth beyond their needs.

Military aid to Ukraine has always been a bargain for the U.S.

We degraded Russia’s armed forces and replaced our own stockpiles with brand new weapons, all while brave Ukrainians— not Americans—fought the Russians off.

Halting that aid is not only morally repulsive, it’s plain stupid.

Dear media:

Please do not waste time hyperventilating about this dumb comment.

It’s intended to be a distraction from all of the damaging actions he’s taking.

Focus on those.

I know that a lot of people are thinking about how to resist Trumpism and exercise our Constitutional rights to do so.

I have this feeling that eventually we are going to see Trump using force against American citizens to shut down dissent.

Be careful out there tomorrow if you plan to protest.
