every trans person i see post about the OU suspension knows that the suspended target is trans & a grad student, & has an innate awareness that this is about purging trans employees. every cis person i see thinks the target is a rando professor & that this is about giving conservatives good grades

An undergrad Psych student wrote a Biblically-based tirade against trans people instead of an essay about the scientific article she was supposed to read. The instructor gave her a zero grade. The instructor was removed from teaching.
OU student says essay grade was a violation of her rights. Read the essay
In the essay, she wrote traditional gender roles should not be considered stereotypes. What do you think? Read the full essay and professor responses here.

If you can, if you need to, use this information.
This is a really good New Republic article about trans people leaving the country. Do some research about getting visas. Start now. It is harder and slower than you think, and there are no opportunities for asylum right now. It also is entirely doable.

When Is It Time to Flee?
Trans people and their families are facing hard questions and choices as threats to their safety and rights proliferate.

this is a good read 👇🏻
For the past few months, I’ve attended dozens of protests and taken thousands of photos, to the tune of something like 42 million views online and a whole lot of comments.

David Farrier let me write about my main takeaway from this year, which is: Uh oh!!

Eric Langberg argues we are experiencing a massive breakdown in the way humans process communication and the very act of meaning-making." Webworm with David Farrier

It’s not that I have anything *against* the Buffalo Sabres. I just don’t understand how I suddenly got on their email list.

How fortunate we have been to live in the world Alice Wong helped make possible. If you want to honor her memory, a small thing you can do is wear a mask to protect yourself and others from respiratory illness.
‘Death remains my intimate shadow partner. It has been with me since birth, always hovering close by. I understand one day we will finally waltz together into the ether. I hope when that time comes, I die with the satisfaction of a life well-lived, unapologetic, joyful, & full of love.’

Surprisingly, I did not wake up this morning feeling like I’d been run over! *knocks all the wood*
Spouse has been sick all week but is finally on the mend. I’ve been masking in public because sometimes sharing is not caring. This morning I woke up with that feeling like I’m about to get hit by a metaphorical truck of viral load. 🫠

Y’know what would be really reassuring right now? Dr. Rachel Levine telling me to wash my hands for 20 seconds, which is as long as it takes to sing “Happy Birthday” twice.

Toby, who is 15 & taller than me, went trick or treating this year, and I was happy with how kind people were to the older kids
Toby just mentioned to me how many years lost to COVID that there was NO trick or treating for that age group and I'm glad my community seems to get that
