There are two clear messages here:

1. A second Trump administration would be full-on fascist, and their team is not shy about saying as much.

2. There's a not insignificant number of Americans who support this fascism outright, and even more who merely shrug at it.

Australian race-baiting gutter journalism from Murdoch media.

I often wonder what people whose careers have amounted to only this think of themselves and their place in this world.

Whilst I have some gripes with some elements of the China Project (which is normal, nobody agrees with everything - particularly when it is as complex and important as understanding China is), this is still sad and unfortunate news:

What is the value of this for Kyiv? Why would they remove specialised forces from the front with Russia to hit mercs in another hemisphere that pose no immediate threat to Ukraine? Honest questions, I assume that there's a reason and I just don't know what it is.

Russia is deporting Ukrainian children from their home to "Russify" them. This is genocide. We still need about 6000 signatures to reach 50 000 - the quorum needed for the German Bundestag to discuss the petition. The organizers are in contact with the Bundestag to this end. Please sign & share!

many of us have been saying for years... that criticisms of the Chinese state aren't inherently sinophobia, even tho racist sinophobia is real, and conflating ethnic identity with a sovereign state is what both the Chn state & sinophobes want to see
As an ethnic Chinese HKer who dislikes the CCP - to put it mildly - I’m just going to say the conflation of ethnic/ religious identity with national identity always leads to ugly places

I never understand why people say "It lets you know that you're alive!". Do these people sometimes think that they are dead, or were never born in the first place? How does one get like that in life? Good lord, my stupid alarm clock reminds me of my own brutal existence at 6am every damned morning!

A multi-layered problem in the north of Australia. Some common threads are racism, alcohol and disadvantage. The big question is the accountability of the state when violence is done, ostensibly in their name.
