No amount of training will prevent injury. You can hedge your bets and mitigate, but that’s a distinctly different thing. It’s not just semantics

Don’t chase solutions to pain expecting long term results. Usually trying to eliminate pain alone doesn’t yield the results you’d expect.

A squat is a poor exercise to improve your hips. You use your hips to squat. It isn’t interchangeable

...Aaron Rodgers is only 41? That seems both entirely too old and entirely too young to be that much of a stupid bitch

Whole body cryotherapy didn’t help cardiac autonomic activity, or muscle soreness recovery following a 🏀game.
No significant differences between cryo and placebo (jumping, change of direction, sprint abilities, HRV, muscle soreness). Only perceived recovery.

You are not defined by:

- People that took advantage of you
- People that don't believe in you
- Anyone who says mean things towards you
- The opportunities you didn't get or the successes of people around you

All of this will be a part of life, but that doesn't mean you can't overcome it!

After I moved to Canada a couple of years ago I realized that I was no longer constantly running a massive stress routine in the background of my mind worrying about health care and guns. It was weirdly noticeable only when it stopped.

Force is transmitted into a spine perpendicularly. There is little friction between skin and fascia, so force is mostly perpendicular versus directional over a bony process of the vertebrae. It may not be possible to direct force via a specific angle to a vertebrae
The frictional properties at the thoracic skin-fascia interface: implications in spine manipulation - PubMed
During thoracic spinal manipulation, one cannot direct a force vector to a thoracic vertebra at a given angle by simply directing their thrust in that direction.

Excellence begins with the fundamentals repeated consistently. Talent is overrated, excellence does not come from talent as it is not responsible for high achievement. Excellence requires a strategic approach, continued improved results in the manner in which your practice or train.

Back pain isn’t solely due to poor technique or “overuse”. It may not help the cause, but you can’t simply blame movement. Likewise you can’t use passive treatments only for a movement problem and expect to get legitimate change in tissue quality or capacity.

As students we always want to know if it’s going to be on the test. We’re conditioned to study to an exam. We know the answers to questions, usually rudimentary questions. In the real world, problems require you to answer interesting questions that don’t have a clear cut answer. Why, not what.

99.9% of all musculoskeletal problems have some, if not are primarily due to poor neurological preparation. Moving relays information to your brain, your brain sets how much tension you feel at rest and sets muscle lengths. Intervention has to be movement, not just rubbing muscles down.
