We live in such a deeply unserious time, where the only potential avenue to maintaining some form of a useful agency is by becoming the most unbearable sycophant. The idea of a common good is lost upon us.
On CISA media call just now to discuss the F5 hack and source code breach, CISA staffer interrupted the discussion to blame the Democrats for the government shutdown and forcing workers to work without pay

At first the Discord hack didn’t seem that bad because it was initially the third party help desk.

But then you find out they had got there age verification data. Come to find out they got 1.5 TB of government id and age verification data. This is going to become a case against age verification.

There is so much unknown about how ICE intends to use Paragon's terrifying no-click surveillance spyware. We appreciate members of the House Oversight Committee for sending this letter and trying to find out how this spyware will be used.

Whoa! Rental companies are now violating rights further with tools that demand your workplace login credentials to "verify" your income. It's supposed to only be allowed to 60 days, but it's been verified to have been surreptitiously downloading entire histories. www.404media.co/landlords-de...

I love Wired in many ways but this is nonsense, ransomware groups do just fine with phishing, stolen credentials and known vulnerabilities that haven’t been patched. This notion that attackers are going to seriously take up using GenAI just isn’t evidenced anywhere I’ve seen.
