Compare and contrast the Government language.

£3,750 EV grant on a £35k car: ‘helping families’.

Cycle to Work: ‘subsidising leisure’.

And yet cycling delivers TEN TIMES the impact of electric cars for reaching net zero. It’s almost like narrative, not data, is driving policy.

I wonder if Nigel Farage will be giving a press conference on this one?

Anyone else expecting Labour's Road Safety Plan to consist of a focus of drivers born outside UK, and putting leaflets in supermarkets telling drivers to be more careful.

Why was #CelebrityTraitors one big SUV ad?!

SUVs like the Defender are three times more likely to kill a child under 10 in the event of a crash, compared to a small car.

This form of advertising needs challenging. #AirPollution #RoadDanger
Is the Land Rover Defender the biggest star of Celebrity Traitors?

You may have missed this gem yesterday. From which we learn that:

1. Betting shops are really good for the mental health of isolated people.
2. Most drug-takers are not a problem.
3. Kids put tuppence in slot machines in the hope of getting rich.
4. Farage probably has a gambling industry donor.

#SchoolRunJoy

I admire our lollipop ladies. It is an enormously important job. I could not stand there patiently each day as parents and neighbours blithely endanger the very children they are delivering to school by parking dangerously.

There's only one thing worse for a Local Authority that's bankrupt making cuts and selling assets which will hurt those most in need, and that's making cuts and selling assets because you *thought* you were bankrupt but you weren't

Wonder if we'll ever get the true story on Birmingham City Council?

The public is rightly outraged that private water companies pollute rivers and streams they can usually avoid drinking or swimming in

The public is ambivalent to privately owned vehicles that pollute the air they cannot avoid breathing in. Or their children or elderly parents.

This is a great summary of what's going on in particular sections of the news media. It's obvious that the only real issue that the tabloid media has with Zack Polanski's mouth is that he uses it to say that we should lift up people who are struggling instead of the rich.

My walk to work today.

If we want to live in safe communities with clean air, we all have to walk+ cycle more/drive less. But there's no incentive on offer to walk so the status quo continues...

The pedestrians in this photo had to move to the right so the cars could drive along the footpath to drop their kids off. Birmingham is an extraordinary place where people will fight for the right fit for a car dominated city 🤯

When we're told there's no new money, we must spend what we have more wisely. Nearly 12x ROI
A new UK report shows free bike programmes give £11.80 return for every £1 spent. Over 12,000 bikes provided so far, improving health, mental wellbeing, access to jobs and community ties - especially in disadvantaged areas.

Is it time to think bigger than cheap buses?
