One thing the US can be proud of is that despite its extreme belligerence, the antiwar movement in the past has delivered real victories and laid the groundwork for deeper struggles. Solidarity to all the folks who've been at it already and prayers and good vibes for all those who get involved now.

2025 classroom supplies. Children shouldn’t be afraid to come to school. They shouldn’t have to worry about whether or not their parents will be there to greet them when they get home. All I can do is protect them as best as I can… and it doesn’t feel like enough.

The longest night of the year is a reminder that there’s more light and hope to come.

Sending peace to Gaza, my unhoused neighbors, friends dealing with loneliness and health issues, Sudan, my family, my students, and anyone else quietly suffering.

May tomorrow fill you with hope and light.

We’re in a moment when the tools of the prison-industrial complex are likely to be turned even more aggressively on larger classes of people and it’s worth remembering that the problem is and has always been the whole damn system, even when the people it catches are less sympathetic.

Solidarity, to me, is rooted in the belief that life, not money, is sacred. And it requires a commitment to reflecting that faith in our relationships, movements, institutions, and social policies.

People are rightly concerned about Trump expanding private (or any) immigration detention centers, but a lot of folks seem to be conveniently forgetting that Biden has expanded them beyond Trump's previous administration.

Sabbath as resistance.
"So often we put off rest because we are convinced that our work — our jobs, our families, or even our service for others — requires our constant attention. Rest necessitates a change of pace and a laying down of self-importance." (2021)

SNAP: 42 million low-income people are exposed to AI-related decision-making

Social Security disability benefits: About 13.8 million people are exposed to AI-related decision-making
