The UK’s defence and intelligence infrastructure is dependent on the US. It’s really important to remember that. A Trump hissy fit could leave us massively, suddenly and dangerously exposed. That explains a lot of the UK government’s current positioning. Other European countries are not so exposed.

I've seen articles like this in my local media. Local residents moaning about the impact of the proposed development on their quality of life, with stories of stress and "now having to take medication" as a result.

Now, I knew this land. I’d walked across it many times to visit friends. So I know, 100%, that this was total bollocks. It was barely used scrub. Road noise, plastic bags, bored teens on bmx. And right next to a train station.
