Seldom-seen, quite large black & yellow butterfly, usually only late summer, and solitary. Wonderful to watch, they fly with such gracefulness, & rather slowly. They really enjoy a variety of Lantana flowers. Sorry, don’t know this species.

Flying into Vancouver, it was blindingly sunny in the plane.

Below, Metro Vancouver is covered in a thick fog layer, with some higher places and bridges peeking through.
