At no point since Facebook went up has the average voter fixated on something as daunting as the epistemology of progressivism

They are goldfish who don't know the difference between inflation, disinflation, and deflation, whose ideological cornerstone is their most recently viewed YouTube Short
I agree. And many of them saw that he offered a clear rejection of a political and cultural vision—way of speaking, thinking, organizing and signaling—that they absolutely hated. Many found his corruption and authoritarianism *preferable* to the great awokening they’d been subjected to.
Trump voters voted for Trump because they saw what he offers and want it.
They're not kids or mindless automatons. They're adults with agency who made a choice.
Nobody forced them to.
But congrats on the success of your efforts to get people to believe Dem leaders push stuff they didn't campaign on.

Voter depression + Divide & Conquer. These are the tactics Trump, Musk, & the GOP used. The same tactics they used in 2016, but better funded this time. They are the same tactics Russia uses. They are the same tactics fascists & other authoritarians always use. Divide & depress, then conquer.

Not a novel sentiment, but I am very tired of conservatives not being able to take even a tiny fraction of what they dish out.

This made literally no difference on the outcome of the election. We have the exit polls. Literally none of the voters cared about foreign policy.

Kamala could have run to the left of the DSA or to the right of Ben Gvir on Gaza and it wouldn’t have mattered.
In my new op-ed for @tnr.bsky.social: Democrats abandoned their base for a neoconservative pipe dream.

That's why we, the people, must come in and transform the party, whether its entrenched leadership wants it or not: newrepublic.com/article/1881...
Democrats Need to Clean House Before They Screw Up Again
It wasn't just the people running Kamala Harris's campaign who failed. The leadership of the entire party is at fault.

I’ve been a bluesky user for 48 hours. No moderation, no privacy, no draft feature, and no group chat. I am grateful I received an invite, but I have my doubts.

The best scenario for twitter is if it dies and stays dead through at least the end of the 2024 cycle, then is brought back w/ restored controls by one of elon’s competent personal rivals.
